Can you prove this rumor true Star Wars? Is there a comic where Darth Vader is not Anankin?
I've heard that before George Lucas came up with the idea Back story of the Empire, which was a comic where Obi Wan fought with his apprentice of Darth Vader (before he proves himself Anankin Skywalker in ESB) Someone know if there is a picture of the duel between them?
Ok here goes. Marvel Comics published Star Wars Comics, including several in between Rotja and ESB. He wrote and published these comics outside Lucasfilm side so there are several possible continuity errors. In Star Wars Annual # 1 stated that Obi-Wan, Anakin and "another apprentice" traveled the same planet together. Vader later claimed to be the apprentice, when he later returned to the planet and also declared that killed Anakin and Obi-Wan. This was explained Vader simply assert that they lied to hide his true identity. But what came after Luke told him about what he said about killing Vader Anakin and Obi-Wan. These comics are not generally considered to be true Star Wars continuity, but there have been steps to incorporate in.
