Initially airing in the summer of 1998, the HBO original series Sex and the City, based on the bestseller of the same name by Candace Bushnell, collected a large number and loyal followers. Based on the adventures of four young, career-driven women and their different relationships with men, the program displays a rare charisma and originally often absent from the sample itself.
Sarah Jessica Parker plays the role of Carrie Bradshaw, a popular columnist relations and social butterfly. Friends Miranda Hobbs (Cynthia Nixon), Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) and Charlotte McDougal (Kristin Davis) complete a cast of characters that is filled with diversity of lifestyle and opinion. Together, they form the core of a self-created advisory circle for consultation with your sex life, relationships, and racing.
The Sex and the City (Season 5) DVD offers a series of amusing episodes including the season premiere "Anchors Away" in which a sailor invites Carrie to a party of 'Fleet Week' (only to leave alone at home, due to their inability to forget their past relationship with Aidan and Mr. Big). Meanwhile, Charlotte has a less than pleasant experience with a naval officer, and Samantha goes to extremes for the neighborhood know of Richard's infidelities ...
